The curriculum is enhanced through activities and field trips that range from visiting the National Museum to learn about history, to visiting nature reserves to explore science concepts. In-school activities allow students opportunities to express themselves; in-school parties and fairs are frequently held throughout the year. Top events, include Apple Day, Halloween, Valentine’s Dance, and March Madness.

In the elementary school, Mini-Class also provides students with many opportunities to engage in curriculum enhancing projects, such as sewing, cooking, woodworks, and hiking.

Model United Nations – A Move Towards Global Citizenship

Every year, High School students from Eastwood College are selected to participate in the Model United Nations (M.U.N.) program. The M.U.N is an international program present in almost every country around the world. The objective  of the program is to simulate actual United Nations sessions whereby students play the roles of Ambassadors to several UN countries.

The program trains High School students about the rules of procedure, position papers, public speaking, role playing, negotiation skills, caucusing, working papers,  and draft resolutions that are followed in the United Nations. The program increases the cognition of students about developmental issues that impact humanity, such as poverty and hunger, proliferation of illiteracy, gender discrimination, child and maternal mortality, major diseases, and environmental resources. The students build skills in conflict resolution, leadership, and diplomacy.

Eastwood College students have won the Secretary General’s Award, the Best Position Paper Award, and the Diplomacy Award over the last five years since the program’s debut in Lebanon.
